The Writers. Part 1.

by carolyn with no comments

Grass does not grow under Itinerant Theatre’s feet! On Nov. 9-10 at 7pm IT produces “The Writers”.  Three feisty, determined, talented women entertain you in short, challenging monologues.  All three are one-woman plays written by Carolyn Woosley and are from her 13-piece Louisiana Women, the Monologues.

Back by popular demand Joy Pace embodies “Maggie” (Margaret Dixon), America’s 1st female managing editor of a major periodical; and, “Rosa” (Hart), a budding Jewish intellectual hilariously tricked into becoming America’s 1st female cheerleader.  Woosley directs “Maggie” and “Rosa”.  Donna Rigdon Jones brings back the unmatcheable “Kate” (Kate Chopin), preeminent writer who explored issues of feminism, classism and racism — well ahead of her time (1890s).  Director is Carol Anne Gayle.  In 1999 Gayle premiered and eo-produced both “Kate” and “Rosa” with the Lake Charles Little Theatre, Adley Cormier Director.

Join us at Imperial Calcasieu Museum (ICM), Gibson Barham Gallery, 204 W. Sallier St..  7:00pm.  ICM is co-presenter of “The Writers”.  There will be two intermissions. Tickets are $10 and are available at this website or by calling 337.436.6275 (sales final).
