Refreshments will be sold.

Young cast reads “Candida”

by carolyn with no comments

Director Joy Pace has cast a young, professional group of actors for the December 13th staged reading of Candida by British  playwright, George Bernard Shaw.  The experience beefs up the resumes of these professionals, engages them in a modern classic read in a perhaps novel format (to the audience), the staged reading, and adds to the training needed to compete for jobs in two top Louisiana industries:  cinema and tourism.

McNeese State U. undergrads play all roles but one.  Jonathon Richards is the Reverend James Morrell; Elise Hamilton is Candida; Hayley Smith is Miss Proserpine; Ronnie Doyle is Eugene Marchbanks; and, Cameron Scallan is the Reverend Alexander Mills.  In addition, Joey Frazier, Pres. of the Board of The Lake Charles Little Theatre & longtime fixture on the region’s theatre scene, plays the role of Candida’s colorful Dad, Mr. Burgess.

Join Itinerant Theatre for Candida:  7pm, Thursday, December 13, Attic Theatre (rm. 313), Central School A&H Center.  $8.  Limited seating.  For tickets & info:  this website or call 337.436.6275.
