Greetings, all. Itinerant Theatre is proud and privileged to produce Ntozake Shange’s Pulitzer prize-winning play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf ! The performances are exuberant and penetrating. The words are, well, let’s let the New York Times speak: “…Ntozake Shange writes with such exquisite care and beauty that anyone can relate to her message.” The NYT later said “…encompassing…every feeling and experience a woman has ever had.”
Performance times vary, so, choose your day carefully, and remember, the show runs only one long weekend: April 5-8 in the Ben Mount Theatre of Central School A&H Building, 809 Kirby St., downtown Lake Charles.
Showtimes: (1) Thursday, April 5, 7:00pm. (2) Friday, April 6, 8:30pm after the opening of the Black Heritage Gallery’s opening 6:00-8:00pm on 2nd floor of Central School. (We discount your theatre ticket if you attend the opening!) (3) Saturday, April 7, 7:00pm, and, (4) Sunday, April 8, 3:00pm matinee.
Tickets are $15/ $12.50 seniors (65+)/ $10 students of any age. Buy tickets at the door or at this website. Reserve tickets at 337-436-6275, and be sure that you arrive 15 minutes early to pay for reserved tickets. In the event the house is full, and you are not there 15 minutes early to claim your tickets, we will release your reservation.
The show runs 90 minutes. There is no intermission.
